Bilateral Cataract Surgery

Shankars Eye Hospital successfully conducted cataract surgeries for three underprivileged and differently-abled patients from Snehatheeram Orphanage in Vilakkudy.

The patients were referred by Dr. R V Asokan, Deen Hospital, Punalur, for advanced cataract management. All three cases were highly challenging due to multiple associated medical and psychiatric conditions, including psychiatric history, high myopia, hypertension, and bilateral cataracts.

Our expert ophthalmology team performed Phacoemulsification (Phaco) Cataract Surgery for all three patients with utmost care and precision. Despite the complexity of the cases, all surgeries were completed successfully.

As part of our commitment towards community eye care and social responsibility, the hospital provided:

  • Free consultation
  • Free cataract surgery
  • Free medicines
  • Free spectacles

to all three patients.

These patients, being differently-abled and socially vulnerable, required special attention and coordinated care throughout the treatment process. The successful outcome reflects our dedication to providing quality eye care services to every section of society, irrespective of financial background or medical complexity.

Shankars Eye Hospital extends sincere gratitude to Dr. R V Asokan and Snehatheeram Orphanage in Vilakkudy. Centre for their support and coordination in helping these patients regain better vision and quality of life.
